The Washington Post named Bates White as a Top Workplace for mid-sized companies for 2023—the eighth consecutive year the firm has won this recognition. The firm’s 2023 ranking is #14.
Managing Partner Charlie Mullin said, “We are excited and proud to be recognized again as one of the top DC workplaces, especially since the ranking is based on employee feedback. The award is not just recognition, but an honor our employees give us. We continue to be committed to providing all employees with a high-quality work experience. This award acknowledges that we are succeeding in keeping Bates White a place where people can be passionate and engaged in every aspect of their time here.”
The ranking is based on employee feedback gathered from more than 147,000 employees from 541 organizations through a third-party survey administered by Energage. In the survey, employees rate company culture, direction, leadership, values, and work. In completing the survey for 2023, many Bates White employees noted the firm’s integrity, engaging culture, collegial atmosphere, interesting work, career support, and strong community program.
When completing the survey, one employee noted, “I am making a difference with the work I do.” Another one said, “I'm surrounded by hard-working, capable, and intelligent people that are just as invested in my well-being and growth as they are in producing high-quality work product and meeting the needs of our clients.” And another commented, “Leadership truly cares about employees. I feel seen and understood by my mentors and managers.”
Bates White has also won awards in the past several years from Vault/Firsthand, including among the top 50 consulting firms, economic consulting firms, and boutique consulting firms. In addition, Vault/Firsthand ranked the firm’s summer internship program among the top ten programs for seven consecutive years—and ranked at the top twice in the past four years. The firm was also named on the Management Consulted’s 2023 list of top consulting firms—just one of two firms in the economics and litigation consulting category.
