Cory Capps discusses economic issues in rulings that blocked insurance giant mergers

The Anthem-Cigna and Aetna-Humana Mergers: A Post-Mortem

Earlier this year, two federal courts blocked mergers between Anthem and Cigna and between Aetna and Humana. Partner Cory Capps will participate in a panel discussion of healthcare experts who played important roles on both sides of these proposed mergers. Dr. Capps led a Bates White team that worked on behalf of Humana in its proposed merger with Aetna to analyze competitive effects and barriers to entry and exit in the sale of Medicare Advantage products as well as likely competitive effects in the sale of individual health insurance on public exchanges.
