The regulatory framework that covers music licensing has adapted to streaming. Partner Eric Emch will moderate a panel at the 72nd ABA Antitrust Law Spring Meeting that specifically addresses streaming: “The Machinery of Making Modern Music.” Panelists will examine the state of competition and regulation in music streaming, discussing whether regulations and agencies have struck the appropriate balance between potential market power on the part of labels and publishers on the one hand and streaming platforms on the other.

Dr. Emch’s co-panelists include Brittany Amadi of WilmerHale, Jacob B. Ebin of Mayer Brown, and Benjamin K. Semel of Pryor Cashman. The panel is sponsored by the Intellectual Property and Media & Technology Committees.
