In recent years, the growth of “Big Tech” has posed significant challenges for antitrust enforcement. Antitrust practitioners have been forced to develop and engage with new theories of harm based on non-price competition, such as competition for innovation and data privacy. At GCR Live: Law Leaders Global, Partner Eric Emch will participate in the panel “Antitrust: Theories of Harm in Unilateral Conduct Cases Concerning Big Tech in the US and Europe.” The panel will address difficult-to-measure considerations in the context of unilateral conduct enforcement against big tech platforms; similarities between antitrust enforcement against big tech and more traditional industries; and recent cases against tech giants including Google, Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft.
Dr. Emch’s co-panelists include Jordan Ellison of Slaughter and May; Bradley Justus of Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider; Timothy Lamb of Meta; and Jennifer Sturiale from the Delaware School of Law. Petra Linsmeier of Gleiss Lutz will moderate the panel.
