Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing everyday life—and fast. Most generative AI tools were unknown before ChatGPT’s launch in November 2022; yet only a year later, President Biden issued an Executive Order on AI. Today’s businesses face important questions. Principal and Lead Data Scientist Julian Chan spoke on the panel “AI and the Workplace: What You Need to Know Now” at a presentation with attorneys from Patterson Belknap. They reviewed recent developments in AI and discussed the legal implications and business concerns that companies need to navigate. Points of focus included AI policies in the workplace, AI and data security, and AI and intellectual property.
Dr. Chan’s co-panelists included Alejandro Cruz, Partner, Litigation; Stephanie Glaser, Counsel, Intellectual Property Transactions; and Julie Simeone, Counsel, Litigation.
