Partner Leemore Dafny will participate in a public workshop organized by the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to facilitate public dialog on the draft Merger Guidelines. The workshop is aimed at promoting a dynamic discussion about the draft guidelines to complement comments that the public has submitted to the agencies.
The workshop includes two panel discussions with academics, economists, practitioners, and former enforcers regarding questions and issues on which public comment will be most useful. Dr. Dafny will speak on the panel “Evidentiary and Analytical Tools from Assessing Competition in the 21st Century Economy.” Her co-panelists include Martin Gaynor of Carnegie Mellon University, Louis Kaplow from Harvard Law, and Dominic Vote of WilmerHale.
From 2012 to 2013, Dr. Dafny served as Deputy Director for Health Care and Antitrust at the FTC’s Bureau of Economics, a position created to enhance the agency’s efforts to promote competition in the healthcare sector.
