Principal Pauline Kennedy speaks on two panels at Concurrences’ third annual Antitrust in Life Sciences Conference. The first panel, “Pricing and Business Practices in the Pharmaceutical Industry,” addresses the need for transparency to determine the extent of the damage pharmacy benefit managers’ practices are having on patients and the marketplace when drug companies raise prices as they reach the end of patent exclusivity. Dr. Kennedy’s co-panelist is Michael Cowie of Dechert, and the moderator is Thomas Horton of the University of South Dakota.
In the second panel, “Recent Developments in the US and the EU,” panel members will discuss the best ways for agencies to review and update the analysis of pharmaceutical mergers in light of the 2021 launch of the Multilateral Pharmaceutical Merger Task Force by the Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice, Canada’s Competition Bureau, DG COMP, and the CMA. Dr. Kennedy’s co-panelists include—
- Gwendolyn Cooley, Wisconsin Attorney General Office
- Elinor Hoffmann, Office of the New York Attorney General
- Sorcha O’Carroll, CMA
- Matthew Tabas, Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer
- Noel Watson-Doig, GSK
