In 2018, Bates White and its employees donated a combined total of more than $165,000 to the community. This new record tops all previous years’ efforts by more than 22%. To achieve these results, employees organized 35 initiatives throughout the year to support 25 nonprofit organizations.
This year’s fundraising programs included hosting field trips for Techbridge Girls and Higher Achievement; sponsoring clothing drives for Bread for the City; conducting Balloon Wars for Camp Kesem GW and Evidence Action Deworm the World; sponsoring teams in Lawyers Have Heart, Walk and 5K to End HIV, and the Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest; raising money to help victims of Hurricane Lane, the California wildfires, and Hurricane Florence; cooking competitions to support Higher Achievement and Children’s Law Center; preparing meals at DC Central Kitchen; collecting backpacks and school supplies for Horton’s Kids; and more!
Charlie Mullin, Bates White Managing Partner, said, “We are proud to have contributed so much to the community, especially given that we only have 230 employees. It’s a reflection of our passion to give to others and create a workplace that empowers employees. We celebrate our employees’ creativity in planning activities they believe will have the greatest impact on causes they care about.”
