Bates White Partners Halbert White, Leslie Marx, Robert Marshall and George Washington University Law Professor William Kovacic, were awarded the Jerry S. Cohen Memorial Fund Writing Award for their article “Plus Factors and Agreement in Antitrust Law.” The article provides a groundbreaking analysis of circumstantial evidence of antitrust conspiracies. The prize, which was awarded at the 13th Annual Conference of the American Antitrust Institute, is awarded each year to the best antitrust writing during the prior year consistent with the principles of economic justice that animated the award′s namesake.
The authors received an $8,000 check and donated the prize to The Halbert L. White Memorial Director’s Fund, which was set up in Hal’s memory to advance the mission of Higher Achievement, an afterschool and summer academic program designed to close the opportunity gap for middle school youth in at-risk communities.
