Through its pro bono program, Bates White conducted an analysis for Give Girls a Chance (GGAC) regarding cost-effective high-impact interventions to improve educational outcomes for girls in Nigeria. GGAC is an organization committed to improving the lives of Nigerian girls between the ages of 10 and 19 through access to quality education and skills training.
The Bates White team researched the major barriers girls face in accessing quality education in Nigeria and educational interventions that have been shown to improve learning outcomes and participation. The team ranked educational initiatives based on their cost-effectiveness and provided the corresponding cost estimates from the literature. GGAC plans to use the research to inform the prioritization, design, and fundraising of their initiatives, as well as the eventual establishment of an academy in Nigeria.
