Partner Leemore Dafny, the Bruce V. Rauner Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and Professor of Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, has been elected as a member of the National Academy of Medicine. Election to the Academy constitutes one of the most prestigious honors in the medical and public health fields. New members are elected by current Academy members through a process that recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of the medical sciences, healthcare, and public health.
In its announcement, the Academy recognized Dr. Dafny for “path-breaking work in illuminating where healthcare markets succeed and fail, including powerful insights regarding market consolidation, strategic decisions of market participants, and policy solutions to market failures.”
The National Academy of Medicine addresses issues in health, science, and related policy. It works with the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering to provide independent, objective analysis and advice and to conduct other activities that help inform public policy decisions.
