Summary

Balaji Lakshmanan is a member of the firm’s senior leadership team. He specializes in technical IT management and oversees Bates White's Data Engineering and Business Systems teams. He has significant experience in building data applications, designing and administering scalable solutions, and implementing data analytics workflows. At Bates White, Mr. Lakshmanan leads a team of Data Engineers and Business Analysts who primarily support all data analysis needs, including data infrastructure, cloud computing, data analytics, data storage, and preparing technical documentation. Some of the key applications he manages include Microsoft D365, Power BI, Databricks, RStudio, Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache SOLR, and public cloud services such as AWS and Azure. He also leads Bates White’s artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI, and large language model initiatives. He is also a key member of the AI Committee and the Data Science Committee, where he provides strategic solutions and support to matters across the firm.

Prior to joining Bates White, Mr. Lakshmanan was Chief Data Architect at Northrop Grumman, where he was instrumental in designing and implementing data and analytic solutions in a multi-million-dollar funded project using Big Data applications and cloud services.
