DOJ v. Quicken Loans
In DOJ v. Quicken Loans, the Department of Justice (DOJ) retained Karl Snow as its expert witness. DOJ had alleged that Quicken instituted and encouraged an underwriting process that led to employees disregarding Federal Housing Administration (FHA) rules and falsely certifying compliance with underwriting requirements in order to reap the profits from FHA-insured mortgages. Dr. Snow provided a written report and deposition testimony on sampling and damages. Quicken Loans settled with the DOJ before trial for $32.5 million.
